Audit Policy
In order to provide our students with an optimal language learning environment, we limit the number of seats to current Barnard and Columbia students. Therefore, we do not permit auditors in our language classes. For advanced literature courses, you must receive permission from the instructor before enrolling in the course.
For Columbia French course policies on auditing, please contact the Columbia Department of French and Francophone Studies at 212.854.2500.
French Tutors
For Inquiring Barnard students:
For those interested in tutoring other Barnard students, please visit Peer-to-Peer Tutoring, which is a one-on-one tutor service hosted by the Dean's Office. Although our office works closely with the Dean's Office, tutoring positions are solely managed by the Dean's Office.
For Inquiring Public:
We do not offer lessons or tutoring to the public. Please contact the Beyond Barnard office to submit a job posting regarding French lessons or tutoring.
Translation Requests
Our department does not provide translation services.
Donations of French materials
Although we greatly appreciate your generosity, we cannot accept any material donations (books, magazines, etc.) due to limited space.
